First of all, welcome to my little corner of the internet! Here I share all the messy, beautiful, and sometimes absurd lessons I’ve learned as a neurodivergent parent. If you’re here because you’re a parent on the spectrum or just curious about how my brain works (spoiler: it doesn’t always), then you’re in the right place!
So, a bit about me: I’m Reina, a proud neurodivergent parent who spends a lot of time trying to balance the chaos of life, my kids’ inevitable tantrums (thank you AirPods), and my ever-growing collection of autistic sensory tools that keep me from spontaneously combusting. And let me tell you, that balancing act? It’s like juggling flaming swords while riding a unicycle, except the unicycle is made of Legos and someone’s probably going to cry at some point.
Who Is This Website For?
I created this website because, well, let’s be real—being a neurodivergent parent is a lot. It’s also one of the most rewarding (and occasionally bewildering) experiences of my life. Whether you’ve been navigating the world of parenthood for years or are just dipping your toes in (with sensory-friendly socks, of course), this space is for anyone who wants to hear about what it’s really like.
You’ll find posts here about everything from managing sensory overload while trying to be an encouraging parent for your kid to understanding how to embrace the beauty of being different. Spoiler alert: Sometimes that means being able to hear five different kinds of alarms going off in your head and still somehow keeping the kids alive until bedtime. Other times it’s about the moments when we manage to nail that perfect parenting move, and yeah, we should probably celebrate that.
Why This Site?
Because I realized I needed a place to share the ups, downs, and “what was that?” moments of neurodivergent parenthood. There’s a ton of advice out there for parents in general, but we don’t all experience life, or parenthood, in the same way. There’s no one-size-fits-all guide to surviving the chaos of life with kids and having a neurodivergent brain.
I wanted to create a space where we can talk about the unique challenges we face—and laugh about them, too. Whether you’re here for practical advice or just need a virtual hug from someone who gets it, I’ve got you covered. FREE HUGS EVERYONE!
What to Expect
This site is going to be a little bit of everything: personal stories, advice, humor, rants and tricks that have made my life a tiny bit easier (spoiler alert: a lot of it involves noise-canceling headphones, my weighted blanket, and a little bit of chocolate).
And maybe—just maybe—you’ll leave here feeling a little less alone. Being neurodivergent in a world that’s often built for “neurotypical” folks can feel isolating. But guess what? You’re not alone. And I’m here to remind you that it’s totally okay to embrace the weirdness, the quirks, and the fabulous ways we navigate parenthood.
So, What’s Next?
Take a look around, laugh at my awkward parenting moments, and feel free to leave a comment or share your own experiences. (Because, trust me, I’m all about connecting with people who “get it.”)
And remember: Some days, surviving parenthood is enough. But on the good days, you might even thrive. 😉
Thanks for stopping by! Now, who’s up for some Roblox…?
